In spite of a relatively short history of 34 years, the National Pension Service (NPS) has become the world’s third-largest pension fund, with approximately 22.35 million insured persons, 5.86 million beneficiaries, and KRW 948.7 trillion in assets under management.

The environment of the NPS is highly challenging due to demographic changes including a low fertility rate, an aging population, and slow economic growth as well as the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
